A Review of Reconfigurable Leaky-Wave Antennas

A comprehensive survey of the reconfigurable leaky-wave antennas (LWAs) is made in this paper. Beam-steering and unique radiating features LWA are highlighted particularly. Therefore, radiation mechanism different types LWA, including uniform, quasi-uniform, periodic, metamaterial LWAs discussed detail. The guiding structures for realizing LWAs, namely microstrip, waveguide, substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), half-mode SIW (HMSIW) investigated as well. Basic concepts electronic beam-scanning also introduced, several state-of-the-art studied thoroughly. suitable applications due to their compactness, ease implementation, reasonably high gain, relatively wide range, will be demonstrated through review.
